Where can I buy the Eclipse AVN2454?
I've been spending days online trying to find where I can buy the AVN2454 at a good price on ther internet, but no luck.
Can someone help me out as to where I can get this?
Also...those who are reading this, has anyone figured out how to bypass the DVD lock to where you can play DVDs while the car is in motion?

check out the other tread of this.
my local eclipse autorized dealer sells at 2099+4.5% tax.
You can watch DVD while you're driving when you install, you have to ground diff. place (I don't konw exactly, my local dealer showed me his demo car and thats what he said) but you can't watch movie while using nav. (nav and dvd use same slot, the other one is only for music/mp3 cd, not dvd)
search audio forum. (or just hit search for my treads bottown of this window) you will see most recent one with some more info.
hope this helps.

check out this thread https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=79807 This vendor is selling under 2G, but I dont know if he still got any.
I saw a major (in the NY Metro Area at least) appliance/electronics chain, 6th Ave Electronics, selling the Eclipse AVN2454 for $2299.99 installed with full warranty, etc. Another place and someone else on the forum said they paid $2500 installed...
I'm at a crossroads for purchasing it from someone online or on eBay and paying an installer (no warranty) or paying a little more at an electronics chain with a warranty. If something happens to go wrong after install, its nice having someone to take it back to, etc. I guess you get what you pay for...what to do, what to do!?!?

Eclipse has one of the best warranties out there...one of the reasons I'm considering purchasing that particular brand. I would think long and hard prior to purchasing this equipment with no Factory warranty...too many things can go awry. Some of these very LOW prices are tempting, however...
I paid retail for mine at an authorized dealer. Its just too much money to gamble on an online seller. I sleep better knowing that if it fails i can go back to the shop that i bought it from. I think its worth the extra few hundred for my piece of mind.

ground the parking brake wire...
side note:
I think it is funny that eclipse has a wire for "speed" so the unit reads that you are moving but they still include the wire for the hand brake. Thus allowing the consumer the ability to watch a movie while driving even while the unit knows you are moving due to the speed wire.

Which is better and way, I just bought the DDX7015 $899.00, no tax and free shipping. I'm thinking about possibly selling the kenwood and go to eclipse. I have'nt used the Kenwood yet, still new in the box. I'm waiting for some good feed-back to see if I'll keep it or not.

Normally to get the DVD feature to be available(or any in-depth menus) you have to hold down the foot brake, engage the e-brake, dis-engage the e-brake, then re-engage it. All while holding the foot brake. It's funny that Alpine spent all the time to create this safety feature, then someone spent just as much
(if not more) to create an over-ride.
