Default DVD? What was I thinking.

I think I am comming to my senses when I wonder why the hell do I want to put a DVD player into my car... Like I will ever watch it.

Nav is another story.

Instead I will spend that $$ on better components and go for SQ competition.

Whats the point, its only cool for shows, but performing is better!
Anyways, just seeing if anyone else out there came to that realization.

Unless someone makes a DVD audio or SACD HU, cause DVD audio / SACD is freaking AWSOME.

hahah i came to the same conclusion. its tempting, because if u buy the screen and player seperately... u can get them for only 300 bucks. but with a nice install.. it would add upto 600. if i get a screen.. it will be for navi, or something very useful

We think alike. I came to the same conclusion myself. It's like getting Sat radio for a my car. A car I only drive on the weekends is not worth getting Sat or DVD in it.

I love mine, when I have to wait for people for long periods of time. I fire it up and play Need for speed underground 2. I drive my Z even when I'm waiting in it.

Around town I usually "watch" DVD audio concerts. But on a long trip its great to put on a movie to keep my girlfirend from talking to me.

I am going to go the cheap route and put DVD player under my HU and a seperate screen in the nav cubby. You're right though it's really not for much more than show and that will be one of the last things i do and I can't see spending a whole lot on it, personally i'd rather have exhaust or a body kit than an expensive DVD player but hey everyone has their own opinion i guess. I had nav in my RX-8 and i thought it was the coolest thing but to tell you the truth I NEVER used it...but it is cool

Yup, my car is a touring, so it came with the 18's. I like the design of the 17's better and since everybody wants BIG wheels, I was able to pick up a set of these with 3 miles on them for $500.
Powercoating a stock wheel involves 2 steps, first they need to sand or media blast off the stock finish, then actually do the powder coating.

Its about $35 to blast and $35 to coat each wheel. Call up a Harley shop in your area and ask them where they get thier stuff done at, thats how I found the place that did mine.

At some point, I'm going to break down my stock 18" wheels and have them powdercoated. I was toying with the idea of white just for car shows, but not sure yet.

That's awesome dude, finally someone that agrees with me. I love the 17's. I think the stock 18's don't have the same aggressive look and I enjoy the smoother ride. Thanks for the info!

Thats awesome, my thoughts exactly. Nothing passes a 10 hour trip like 5 DVD's, it flies by. Plus when I show my system to people I play the video instead of just the song, it's pretty cool

DVD is a nice perk but Nav is why I wanted a screen

That is what I though when I first got the screen n stuff.

Now I find myself buying concert DVDs and band DVDs to ride around with all the time. A Perfect Circle's aMotive has been in my car for the last few weeks, good stuff.

Music for me is about MUSIC, not music videos. If they actually showed the guitar playing the song so i could learn it, I might think differently but to me, MTV ruined music in many ways, Now kids talk about the dancing or how they dress in a stupid video. If you love music, you love the music.

I could care less about a nav system or DVD screen in a car. Heck, i wish my Z did not have elec windows, it is a SPORTS CAR. BTW, I have a portable DVD player I use when i travel when i go on surf trips but that is not in my car. To me, they just dont make a lot of sense for the cost. For those that have them and like them, good for you, they are not for me personally though.
