I found a stereo place to install my compustar 2wss-as and they quoted me 970 installed...and he said that didnt include any modules. That sounds outrageous to me. So whats the best place to order the alarm from. And what should i expect to pay for installation. T.I.A.
got mine $495 with remote start and it's the 2wss with auto start. that's way too much for an alarm. just go somewhere else and try to find a cheaper place to get it installed
i think i paid around $900 for mine. it's expensive but getting the lifetime warrnty is the key. if you order it off the internet and have someone install it, you don't get the warrnty. my remote has already broken once and they replaced it free of charge. if i had to buy it it would have been a couple hundered bucks.
compustar is the way to go though. i'm going to expand my system in the near future to include the window module, which will roll up the windows when you exit the car, and the proximity sensor.
also, compustar is a great alarm/starter for manual applications. if you have an auto, you should do a little more research before you buy. there are a lot more options for automatics.

also, when they install it, make them run all the wires from the engine bay through the grommet near the battery. they drilled my firewall to do it and it created a leak due to poor sealant. just fome fyi
