What aftermarket 10in sub fits in the bose speaker mount?
just wondering, because i don't have the feature but thinking about buying the mount and the speaker cover for the car and want to know what after market speaker fits in there because i don't wanna go with the bose one. thanx
A lot of the standard (alpine, pioneer, RF, stuff like that) 10's seem to fit in the space, some might need some easy fabrication, but some of those seemed like they would have just screwed right in. Check crutchfield, haven't checked them in a while, but they usually had what fit what car. When i had my alarm put in, the guy tried like 3 subs to see how they would sound with the stock amp, they sucked, the stock amp wasn't strong enough, but it definitely looked like it would have been an easy install. Probably would need a lot of dynamat inside though. Look for a good free-air sub too, that area does not look air tight.
yeah,
1) make usre it's a free air sub
2) seal the compartment somewhat
3) i read on another post that the factory bracket was too big for some applications, make sure you look into that.
4) consider an infinity baselink, i just got one, it sounds great. i like the fact that you can't really hear it thumping outside of the car but the inside is a different story. if you're into rolling with loud gangster rap and letting everyone know when you're driving by, then it's not the right thing.
