Default Question on replacing stock head unit

I want to replace my stock 6 disc changer. I have a few questions

1. Does Pioneer make a double din that would fit?

2. I will still have to use the BOSE amp already installed in my car correct? : Do the bose speakers run off power from the stock head unit or from the bose amp??????

3. Any other difficulties I should be aware of before doing this? (read: Any additional parts I will need to buy)

Thanks

Also, i'm open for suggestions on the stock head unit.

pioneer makes a double din, fhp-5000. you will need a dash kit for it, i recommend the American International dash kit.

you might want to do a search for a wiring diagram for the HU, that would be helpful.

actually, i don't remember that the A.I. kit fits double DIN. i know the Metra does for sure. that pioneer unit looks pretty cool. might also think about the Kenwood ddx-7015. it's a touch-screen. mucho dinero compared to that pioneer tho. iirc, you'll need a converter box if you want to use your Blose speakers with a new head-unit. i can't remember who makes it, but i'm sure you could find it if you google it. with that and maybe a stock wiring harness adaptor, you should be good to go. good luck!
