Default what does mph in the trip gauge stand for?

hello everyone. i am new here.
just got a used 2004 enthu. i was playing with the trip gauge and saw something like this.

24 mpg
____________
31mph

something like that. i guess mpg is the fuel economy, but what does mph stand for? I think i was going about 70 on the freeway when i saw this.

Thank you.

(sorry if this isn't the right place to post this question. couldn't find other place for it.)

Yes, but consider that it is an average over time not real time, so if you go on a trip and want to get accurate reading for the trip then reset it to zero.

The only time I remember to zero it is when I am stopped in traffic. Then the entire time I am stopped I think about all the 0mph's I am racking up scewing my average.

like 42... I have never used it over a short enough time period ... and I have never averaged 110 for over 5 seconds anyway so I wouldn't be able to beat it.
