i travel alot in my z so i needed as much trunk space as possible. i am also very much into high quality and explosive sound, which is a little hard to mix both of these in the 2 seater z. after a couple hours of measuring, making templates, and making sure i had the best of both worlds, came up with a plan. these boxes took me about 10 hours using mdf bases and the rest all fiberglass. super clean install and gives you most all of your trunk space plus being able still reach your spare with no hassles and fitting 2 10's in a good area for sound. any reputable stereo shop should be able to make these in about as much time. or do yourself if you are familiar with fiberglass forming.
took me a couple hours to come up with the design that works really good so hopefully everyone likes it and gives more ideas for sub-woofer installation.

here is another pic of the box. the other one does not really show it. i am not trying to sell the form as these were made using a wood base and stretch fabric to make the box so the form actually ends up being the box. you can prolly find somewhere on the internet this process and once you learn you can make just about any box configuation you can imagine. this set up i feel just works the best in this car with no compromise between luggage, spare tire, and sound performance. all my amps are also stacked inside the old bose sub compartment making them hidden and still good ventilation.
i do have another convertible corvette i managed to stuff 2 tweets, 2-4", 2-6.5" in the dash in sealed enclosures, 2-8" in the doors sealed, then 2-12" and one 15" in the back. the top folds down still and the interior looks stock with not being able to see one speaker, amp (there are 5) or processor anywhere. TOP THAT!!! LOL. just takes time to plan out a stereo that sounds exceptional and still gives you a car that can be used for it's intended use.

no, they do not intrude into the rear window area at all looking through the rear view mirror.
