Question about subwoofers.
A month ago I purchased two 12 inch Sony xplods and a Sony amp for my z. I built a custom box that fits between the rear strut and behind the seats. Right now I’m working on a fiberglass cover for the box, but it’s been so cold out here that it’s taking awhile to get good days to glass.
Doing the hands on building and designing for the box in the Z, I’ve decided to add a sub box to my Hummer H2 SUT. The thing with the SUT is that there is limited to no amount of space to put a box or sub woofers anywhere. The hummer has the same problems with the stereo as the Z has, Blose. There are no highs and no lows, so I’m trying to figure out how to add the lows now.
I’ve built a box that fits under the rear seats, but there is extremely limited space. The box is 44 inches long, 14 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches deep. This gives me about one cubic foot. So now I’m looking for a sub, or subs that will fit.
Limits:
1. Sub/subs need to be about 3 1/4 or less inches mounting depth.
2. There is only 1 cubic foot of space inside the box.
Now the question is, Does anyone know of any subs that would fit in this area?
I’ve looked at two Sony 8 inch and I can squeeze them in. Also the Blaupunkt ODw1000 (mounting depth 2 1/4). And that’s all that I have been able to find.
So if anyone can help it would be awesome.
Thanks, -Rich-
