Guys with subs: what kind of components in doors? NEED RESPONSE!!
What kind of component speakers should I get in the doors?
I'm looking at Boston Acoustics, and my budget is $400-$450 including installation.
I'm running two 10 inch JL Audio W0's powered by a Rockford Fosgate amp (400 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS) in my trunk, and I have a four channel Alpine amp MRV-F340 running the doors and the two speakers behind the head.
My audio guy tells me I should get some Boston Acoustics Pro60 components which he'll give me for $480 plus 100 for installation. He recommends Boston Acoustics FX8 for the ones behind the head for $120 plus 75 for installation. That'll total close to $800 - a bit over my budget.
He tells me since my bass is so loud, I should go with the pro series, but I'm wondering if I can go for something a bit less that'll still sound good and can handle the power.
Please recommend speakers in my budget!!!!

I am currently having work done on my Z, and was trying to figure out the exactly same question.
I ended up getting non component speakers for the doors, considering there is a tweater already on the door, and tweaters are most effective when aimed towards your head, not your feet. I would save yourself some money, get a non component speaker, if you really want better high end, replace the tweater, will give you much better sound on the top of the door than it will on the bottom.

Go with the Pros, and ask for 480 including install or pick up a set of Alpine Type X: here $228
Bridge the 4 channel into 2 to give the pros(or whatever) lots and lots of power(they will love you for it) and enjoy

Don't bridge the components... you'll lose the "stereo" effect... which separates frequencies that are supposed to go to each speaker... you don't need $500 speakers for them to sound great.... polk audio makes a good set of components for about $200... the db6500 i think... as far as full range speakers.. ehhhh never liked em.. maybe for rear fill.. but i'd go cheap in the rear if anything at all...

You really cannot go wrong with the Boston's...they make some incredible car speakers. I have the Infiniti Kappa Perfect, and to be completely honest, I'm not really all that impressed with them.
You may also want to look into MB Quart's and Focals.

i have the alpine components up front and they sound amazing! the midbass is very strong...and it complements my sub. i got mine for 400 installed. more expensive but have alpine warranty thru installer. oh, and the tweeters are very crisp...but then again my HU makes them sound very good.

something last night really set me off... no hard feelings
MB Quart PCE216's are the bomb (premium series)....I have been thru many speakers as most of you know, and blown several....the infinity perfects sound good but the tweeters can be blown easier than im used to, boston rc620's i had werent impressive, and the MB's sound so nice, the quality of the mids and highs is ridiculous. I have ALWAYS been a huge infinity fan but ever since i got the MBquart's i cant ever say that the perfects are a better set. They retail for $550 but u can get em on ebay for $250-270.....
