I just had a set of the RSC-216 Reference Componenets installed and something is wrong. The tweeters were placed in the stock location behind the stock tweeter grills. I am powering them with a Phoenix gold X100.2 amp. I am connecting to the amp off of a 5v RCA output from the deck. All settings on the deck are ok. The problem that I am having is that I can barely hear the highs. Almost like the speakers are "Muffled" or the tone on the radio is turned down. The installer said that the crossovers were set at 0 and this is just how MB Quarts sounds. This cannot be true? I have heard that they are even bright. Does this sound like a crossover problem, amp gain problem, power problem?

I'm running a PG 100.2 also. But to Diamon Hex components. The highs are so overwhelming that I ended up setting the crossover to -2, plus moved the tweeters to the kick panels, plus bought a PG E/Q to tone down specific freq's. I am running off 5V deck..I think you have a problem, it should be bright.

I have the same set of MB components in my G35. The tweeters give me some very strong highs. I would go back to the shop for an adjustment. Good luck!

 

I agree, my MB's tweeters are bright as all hell!
