Question Aftermarket door speaker max depth?

What's the maximum mounting depth a speaker can have *with* a spacer that will fit in the door of the Z?

Will a speaker with a 2 5/8" mounting depth fit with a spacer?

I'm assuming the rear speakers are ok as well with this mounting depth and *no* spacer....correct?

It should fit, I was able to fit a set of JL Audio XR-650CSI, I belive they are about 2 5/8.

There is not much room at all. I managed to get Dynaudios in there by ripping apart the stock speaker and using it as a mount. That gives a lot of clearance, I'd say maybe 3-4 inches.

I didnt' feel bad about ripping the speaker apart since they probably only cost $30 and I'd just replace it with a crappy stock speaker when I return the car.

tip - use a piece of dynamat on top of the ridge to get a good seal. Also, you have to get lucky with the mounting holes. Have a look at the specs at dynaudio.com for the 240 GT series - the mounting hole distance (diameter) and see if the speaker you want is the same.
