does anyone know which headunits are out there that have orange buttons or displays to match the rest of the interior of the car? other than the sony 7700 one whcih is too much $$ for me; my range is about 300 thanks

 

Clarion DXZ745MP, and it plays mp3s. about 200 on ebay new.

 

I have the Clarion DXC845MC and it matches. It's last years model, so if you can find it, it should be reduced, I paid $200 for mine at Fry's at xmas time (the original Fry's price was 400). 6 rca outs, 2 rca aux in, mp3 and wma on CDs, remote. The only downside I have found is the release for the face is crap compared to my last Sony.

Nakamichi has several with amber displays. I say grab the best hu out there - the Nak 700. It's awesome!

 

thanks hypersprite, i really appreciate it; i wanna do as much research as possible before i buy anything; as of now its down to either that clarion 845 or the alpine 9833...is one significantly better than the other?

 

oh man, i was ordering the 9833 from crutchfiel this morning for 300, but i remmebered i hadnt cashed my paycheck yet, so i decided to buy it when i got home from work...lo and behold it was sold out in 12 hours!!!!

 

I love my Alpine 9835. It has a whitish-gray text, but all the buttons and lighting is amber. You can also adjust the 4 main buttons to be any color you want. It looks very clean, and it probably the best looking headunit you can get right now in my opinion. No flashy nonsense, very clean, but still hi-tech looking enough.

LS350Z is right about the Nakamichis being fantastic headunits, but they can get pretty bland looking.

 

They were that price for about a month, so they didn't really sell out in 12 hours. Still sucks though, it's an awesome HU at a reasonable price.

Maybe check out the new 9853.

 

Alpine 9831 or 9833, you won't be sorry. It has 512 colors so you can tune in the buttons exactly, I love both of mine (I have the 9833 in my truck)
