Does this short attena really work ?? I heard the receiption is bad .. anyone has this ???

I have a shorty on my Z, I think it's the 3.5inch one seen there. I still get good reception, but then again, I don't listen to the radio really.

It's mainly for looks.

 

The ONLY antenna I would recommend is the Honda S2000 antenna. It's a lot shorter than your stock one and the reception is actually better than the stock one. You should be able to get one from your local Honda dealer for about $20.00. The nice thing is that the base diameter of the Honda antenna is just about the same as the one on your Z.

Most people say the S2k one is great. I remember reading the one on the Murano also works as well.

 

the base size of the s2000 attena is a little bit bigger than 350z's, that the only thing i dont like. how about a shorty on mecedes SL500 .. ?? anyone know how much does it cost ? I tried to order online but it is not avaible.

 

dude, I had the same question. actually I almost jacked one off of a red sl500 one night. I was at the mercedes dealership one night and I saw a red SL500 on the lot and I saw the antenna.....hmm....should I.....or should I not......

 

Can you get the s2000 online anywhere?

 

I bought the 3.5 off of ebay and i dont get an reception at all here in Tampa. But i dont use the radio very much at all. On a road trip i put the stock antenna back on.

Get an IS300 antenna instead of the S2000. The base of it is fairly flush when mounted on the Z.

 

How's the reception with the IS300 one. Also, what do you mean by flush?

Are you saying that the s2000 one doesn't have the "angle" at it's base like the Z's and the IS300 does?

No issues with the IS300 antenna reception. The base of the S2000 antenna is wider than the mounting point on the Z which creates a lip. The IS300 version closely matches the mounting points diameter creating a more stock appearance. The antenna can be bought on eBay for $10.

Looks great! reception is almost nonexistant!! I'll be going to sirius soon so I don't really care.

I'd stick with what others are saying & go with either the S2000 or IS300.
