Default Metra dash kit pics with Alpine 7894

I love how the deck sits flush in the dash. Here you go:

I also went with Infinity Reference series speakers all around for their high efficiency because they will only be running off the deck and an Infinity Basslink will handle the lows. An Apple 10gig Ipod will be my mass storage device going through the 7894 Aux input adaptor (converts AI net port to AUX input).

Default i wonder if the head unit frame will fit too

I got this mp3/wma Pioneer stereo that you can download some avi and wallpapers to the OEL lcd. It was previously installed on my 97'240sx but they have to get rid of the frame around the HU

I'm thinking of downloading some 350z banner gifs

Default Nice set up

I like the flush case you have there... I am thinking of replacing my bose system in the near future.. but I want to keep the car looking as stock as possible.. that means a flush designed headpiece.. I would like a LCD flip screen with touch control. Can you put the pocket in the top and your headpiece in the lower section of that case and have it fit in the dash?

I need to make sure that the flip screen wont cover the controls for the NAV?.

Thanks Race!

That looks great, raceboy. I've been considering going with the same HU. Do you have any pics of it mounted in the car yet? Also, were there any gotchas that you ran across during the install/ mounting process with that HU and the Metra kit? Thanks!

Default HEY!

Let us know how the basslink does, I'm considering one of those also. I wonder if it would be possible to locate it in the cavity for the original sub and have it firing out the original cutout?
probably can't get it inside.

Nice! I have my Metra dash kit on order from a local Circuit City ($18). Hopefully it will get here soon, so I can install my Apline 7998. I can't wait to play with this deck....it's got everything!

Hey Raceboy,
Where did you find the Alpine Aux input adaptor? How much did it cost? I've got an Ipaq with a 2 gig drive on it that I want to run through the aux input for additional mp3's.

Be sure to post pics of it in the car. I want to see how well the bracket follows the lines of the console.

Pocket must be on the bottom. As far as the eject problem, I don't record MP3 CD's, I use my iPOD for that purpose. I got the AUX adaptor from Good Guys for $15.00. They also make a $40 AUX adaptor if you want an AI Net changer and AUX input. I don't have NAV, so I am just goona run a cable into the NAV compartment for the iPOD. I thought about doing some creative wiring for the iPOD's remote, but it's just not worth cutting up the car.

Looks very nice...put up some pics when you get it fully installed.

I'm leaning towards the Alpine 7897 but I need the right kit and that looks like it.

I just received my 7897 yesterday. I can't wait to install it! I also plan on using the AUX /AINET input for my IPAQ.

RaceBoy- Where are you putting the basslink? I purchased one, and ended up taking it back because there wasn't a good location for it.

Where can I purchase the Metra dash kit, thank you? Do I just ask for a "metra dash kit" and all of them are the same or is there a specific 350z model? thanks
