Default For those with Laptop Carputers

I am going to be installing my laptop into my car with a 7" Lilliput or Xenarc touchscreen.

My question is, how do you guys turn on your cpu? I dont want to have to open it up and press power every time.

Thanks!

Andy.

Your 7" monitor must have a s video output, and if not how are going to hook your laptop to your video system.

On my carputer I have a Opus 90w DC-DC Power Supply. You hook up constant, ground, and switched ignition power to the power supply. When the power supply sees the ignition on it turns on the cpu. When you turn off the ignition switch it sends the hibernation or shutdown command to the cpu. If your running a laptop and your running it off a power inverter you would need a startup/shutdown controller. There is a ton of info at www.mp3car.com
