Default Choosing an Amp

I have the TITANIUM 12D ELITE as my sub
and there is the info on this sub:
12: 12 inch dual 4 ohm subwoofer
1200/2000W (RMS/PEAK)

i am choosing from

Phoenix Gold XENON 1200.1 Monoblock Amplifier
1200W x 1 (4-1 ohm)

Alpine MRD-M1005 V12 Digital Mono Amplifier
1000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

Phoenix Gold R15.0:1 1500W Amplifier
1500W x 1 (2 ohm mono)

I know the xenon 1200.1 would be the best choose, but it is the more expensive one. My question is would the v12 be good enough? or the R15.0?

these 3 amps are from 350 - 500usd

Or anyone has anyother amp that suit my sub in the same price rage?

Xenon all the way. I run the 1200 on my 10s. That 12d is awsome, I cant wait to see it installed in a Z.

I dont know if you know about the relay trick but you can get 2400 watts rms out of the 1200.1 by tricking the power supply. From what I have read about the 12d, the sub likes more than 1200 watts due to the large moving mass.

Im sure you know that the 1200.1 makes 1200 watts rms at 1, 2, and 4 ohms. Install a delayed relay with a 4 ohm resistor across the speaker terminals and the 1200.1 thinks it has a 4 ohm load. So with a 2 ohm speaker load, you get 2400 watts. The power supply can handle that just fine. However, do not try it with 1 ohm. So wire the coils of the 12d in parallel and you are money.

I can get a better explination of the relay trick if you do indeed go with the 1200.1.

Remember too, you will need 0 gauge back to the amp into 2 sets of 4 gauge. Its a power hungry monster at 1200 watts.

Damn Ahsmo, that's awesome. 2400 out of it? PM me the instructions, I'd like to try it.

r.c.y.k,
1200.1, hands down. But if money is the issue, I'd stick with PG over Alpine.

the R and V12 make max power at 2ohm.

The xenon makes 1200 watts at all ohm loads.
