Has anyone replaced the speakers on the base stereo? I am looking for a recommedation on replacement speakers and a sub-woofer/amplifier combo. I don't want to spend a fortune, but the stock speakers should be easy to improve on.

 

I am getting the base stereo and want to upgrade but want to keep the total stereo improvement budget under $1,000. Any suggestions?????

 

There are a lot you can do for that budget. You can spend about $400 on the amp using the speaker levels from the HU as inputs and then spend the rest on install and speaker replacements. Go listen to speakers that you like, but if you want suggestions: MB Quart, Infinity Kappa Perfects, Boston Acoustics are all good places to start. There are lots more obviously that others may suggest but only you can decide what sounds good to you.

The subwoofer will be tricky since using the metal plate will not generate a satisfactory sound. A custom install is really the only way to get good sound from a sub in the 350Z, IMO. Besides, 6 1/2s will give decent and tight bass until you add that subwoofer. If you are going strictly SPL, that's another story..
I would suggest saving your money on the subwoofer if you are seeking good SQ.
