Default laser Jammers

i am about to choose between the Passport ZR3 and the Blinder M20. Has anyone used the Blinder M20? Any reviews? I did a search on the web and it seems like the one to get but am not sure if those pages that I found are biased.

Valentine 1 doesn't jam laser. I just checked their site and didn't see anything about jamming. Detecting, yes, but by the time detect laser it's too late. You have to jam it to have a chance.

I've seen tests on both. The Laser Blinder had the best success blocking laser.
I'll see if I can find the test reviews and post them.
I'm looking to get one too. I got stoped yesterday.
My V1 worked like it is supposed to against the laser.... it said " Beep, Beep, Beep, You're gettin a ticket!!!"

Laser Detectors usually don't give advance warning, they just let you know when you're being clocked.

Couldn't find the article I had seen before, but this one is a good read.
It also says the Blinder stoped ALL laser guns EVERY TIME.
I'm gonna order one of these....

I have the Passport 8500 X50 and it does just fine for me. My wife and I picked up the laser coming home Friday, but still ticket free. Mind you weren't do any high speed, maybe 10 mph over, but plenty stop time. But the Zr3 is what's going in soon as the engine work is performed. I've heard about it, and there is a Ferrari Dealership that sells them and puts them in for any car. They have all the Passport products right there. They're located in Fremont.

I thought jammers were illegal? Or is that different for each state? I'd love to get one if they're not illegal.

Just saw the info SunSet you had on the www.speedzones.com. Man, that's exactly what I was talking about. The Passport 8500 X50. Good show.
vladsstuff, I know only of certain states where it is illegal to have radar detectors, i.e.
(Radar detector use in cars is legal in all states except Virginia, Washington, D.C. and U.S. Military reservations.) But the 8500 X50 is invisible to even the newest detector detector used by the police also. So it's like there wasn't even one in the car. Check out www.speedzones.com that sunset Z33 put in above. It's excellent and non biasis.

Yeah, I got busted, even with the V1. The V1 is a great RADAR Detector and a great LASER Detector, BUT, Laser Detectors can't work unless the Laser gun is targeting YOUR CAR. So by the time the Laser Detector Alerts you to the presence of a Laser Gun it's too late, the cop already has your speed.
Ocasionally I have been warned early because the cop was clocking the car in front of me or swept the gun across my car to target someone else.
This time I was first in a line of cars going around a long sweeping curve on a divided 4 lane with a 45 !!!! speed limit ( like an expressway you have to go slow on ). The cop was waiting 1/2 mile down the road where you couldn't see him untill you came around the curve. Kind of like a SPEED TRAP.
I wasn't watching ahead for cops like I should have been... I was talking to my wife... so it's her fault, right?

That's why laser jammers are the only to way help prevent getting caught by laser ( other than driving slow ).

I've never gotten a RADAR ticket since I bought my first V1 years ago, but lasers are hard to beat.

As Sunset said, Laser DETECTORS will certainly detect Laser but usually by the time the laser hits your car the officer using it has already clocked your speed. Occasionally, if there is a reflected beam that hits your car, or if the beam is being aimed by not quite "locked on" to you, you MAY get a second to hit the brakes and get under the limit, but not too often.

Radar DETECTORS are legal in the US (NOT in Canada) but are illegal in D.C. and Virginia.

Radar JAMMERS are another story.

"Passive" Jammers take in the incoming Radar signal and mix it with an FM "chirp" that then gets reflected back to the radar gun. These are LEGAL but are basically ineffective against radar. In other words, they are worthless.

"Active" Jammers actually send out a radar signal and truly "jam" the reader's gun. These are very effective but unfortunately are ILLEGAL everywhere in the US.

Laser Jammers (diffusers) are pretty effective and work well against Laser. They "shift" the laser signal so as to confuse the reader's gun. It reads as no signal. These are LEGAL in the US.

The reason for the discrepancy in the legality of jammers is because RADAR is regulated by the FCC (the Federal Communications Commission) and LASER is regulated by the FDA (The Food and Drug Administration) since it is used in the medical field.

Thanks for the info Dr Bonz. Here's all I need to know (from speedzones.com)...

"After initial problems with the Harley’s rear mounted Blinder transponder not being level to the road and BMW’s Blinder coming lose fromits mount, all Blinders blanked all speed readings of all laser guns each time in the ninety runs attempted at the various laser guns. The performance of the Laser Blinder should be titled....Blinding Speed! We do not advocate jamming police laser guns nor condone such products, but we do admire its flawless effectiveness."

Anyone have any first hand experience with the Blinder M20?

I have the integrated Escort Passport SRX system. List price is $800. Got it on eBay for about $680. Yes it is expensive, but the peace-of-mind it provides makes it worth every penny.

https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/72400-i-got-some-srx.html

The cops AIM THEIR LASER GUNS at either our front licence plate or headlights. It is critical to mount your laser jammers near these locations. The proper aiming of a jammer will make the difference between the cop getting a reading OR NOT.

My system has warned me about a laser threat at least 20 times in the past year I've owned it. It has saved my azz many times.

I have received only one ticket (speeding) where I could not slow down fast enough. I was not paying attention and had my stereo turned up too loud and didn't hear the warning.

This sytem has enabled me to enjoy the -Z- much more than when I did not have it. This car is so powerful, it can get you in trouble without even trying.

It should be standard equipment on all Z's !

Being from Canada. Detectors and Jammers are illegal. Now a detector will tell me when there is a laser or radar up ahead. A Jammer will jam the sign being sent back to the cop. What does he/she see on their end? If I'm the only car coming down the road and I jam his signal, will he get some messed up reading and be able to assume that I have a jammer? That’s how I got caught with a detector before. Picture this. Four lane road and you are a cop driving the opposite way. Your detector detector goes off. There is 5 cars, 1 mini van, 3 economy cars, and a blue 350Z who are you going to pull over LOL. It would be nice if there was some sort of jammer that would send a signal back that you could preset to the speed limit. Like if you are on a road that is posted 45mph it will send a signal back to the cop saying 45-48 hehehe.

The laser shifter (the ZR3 anyway) comes with a disable button. When you are hit with laser, the shifter beeps out a signal. You then hit the brakes and when you are down to a safe speed, you press this button and the jammer shuts off, allowing the cop to get a reading of your (now legal) speed.
