Default Radar installations...

I was curious about your installation and what kind of radar detectors you all use.

I am in the market now for one since I do have a heavy foot at times. I am curious if anyone out there has tried to give it a more OEM look or a less obvious look.

ive'd got the x50 and mikes bracket. it's mounted under the rearview mirror and you can hardwire the radar detector so no wires going all the way down to your cig lighter

Mike, just want to say your V1 mount is great!

I tapped into the powered mirror for power for the V1.

I painted the mounting plate and nuts black before installing and it looks very slick.

I put my V1 to the right of the mirror up high almost to the headliner. I didn't want to block anymore of my forward vision as needed - that far over and high puts is out of the line of sight. I ran the power cable into the headliner by just tucking it up there and down the A pillar by pulling the plastic clips off. I have installed my own auxiliary electrical panel behind the passenger's kick panel with:

+12 V battery
+12 V ignition
- ground from driver's door
- ground from the passenger's door

Sup LOS. If money is not a problem the V1 is probably one of the best out there. I'm saving up my pennies for that one. As for mounts, I'm thinking of mounting it out back near the rear hatch powered by running the wires along the headliner. Then use the V1 remort display just above the rear view mirror.
