Default Another V1 installation

Just got my V1 last week and jsut installed it today. I put it right abov the rear view mirror right under those black dotted thingy. I don't know if those things going to effect the radar sensor or not. I use double sided velcro to stick onto the windshield. Before the installation, I used the cups to put it on the windshild and it's pain in the azz to keep it up there. Just made a 2:30 hours trip and I was so happy that I bought the V1. I was saved many times by it. Each time I was smiling as I passed by the trooper hiding on the side of the thruway.
Here are couple shots of it.

Hmm, I might be shopping for a V1 pretty soon . Anyone know if they are planning on releasing a newer version? I'd hate to buy one & have a newer version come out shortly after. Sorry, I'm a newb when it comes to this thing.

I got the Compustar as well .

You can tell by looking at the first pic. If you look up towards the top of the A Pillar, you'll see a sensor attached to the windshield. That sensor looks like the sensors primarily used by Compustar .

Sharp eyes you guys got there That's my new compustar alarm. I also asked them to wired the auto starter in there too. Works like a charm, but I don't intended to use it though.

Yeah, I love the remote start feature. It comes real handy on those cold mornings. Just turn on your defrost/heater the night before & remote start it in the morning. The car will be nice and toasty by the time you get in & your engine will already be warmed up .

Gotcha...I thought that was like a speed pass for toll booths or something.

The cool thing about V1's are that they upgrade them if you want. Even a five year old one has an upgrade path to latested hardware and firmware. There is a charge and depending on what's changed the price varys from just a bit for a new firmware flash to quite a bit for new hardware. Poke around the V1 site and you'll find the info. Mine's about five years old and still works well enough in my environment that I don't worry about an update.

YMMV

haha this made me laugh. those "cold mornings" in LA.....

not being mean, just found it rather funny....

remote starts come in handy here when you have 6" of snow and 1" of ice on your car and it is -5° out.......

Yeah, it would be funny but I don't live in L.A.

I live up in the Bay Area & it can get really cold during the winter. Sometime it can get to 20-30 degrees with no snow but extremely frosty.
