Default replacing factory sub

Does anyone know if there is a way that you can just replace the factory sub with just an aftermarket sub and if it would be worth it, i would prolly dynomat the inside all to hell to insulate it some, i am not sure if this woudl even work or not, woudl i be able to do this and if so would it be worth it i don't want a huge kick in bass but i want something a little more than the bose?

You will have impedence mismatching problems. The Bose speaker system has a wierd impedence load, not like your typical speaker load of 2ohm, 4ohm, or 8ohms. The amp will not funciton properly is an impedence mismatch occurrs and it is no stable @ that particular load.
