Can't seem to locate any place that I can get this online, or near where I live. It is the double-din unit with the in-dash 20GB hard drive.

 

Are u talking about the AVN 5495. Thats the only one with the 20gb hard drive that I can recall. It was recently announced and should be in stores by now..unless they delayed it of course..

 

No....it is definitely the AVX2494. It does not have a NAV system. Basically, when you load a CD, it copies all the music files onto an internal hard drive.

Go to the eclipse web site. Go to Products. The AVX menu will pop-up.

I see them occasionally on eBay for around $1400. Eclipse doesn't permit authorized dealers to sell on-line so it's going to be tough to find them other than eBay.

You know that Eclipse will have a new HDD based Double din coming out soon, right? It's the AVN5495 and has a built in 30G HD with about 10G used for Navigation. I'm guessing the price will be slightly over $2K. Might be worth waiting until July.

 

Eclipse is carrying that item this year also, check out Eclipse dealer near you. They will be able to order it in. The thing is, on this unit it doesn't have any preouts, so if you want to add an amp or amps, you will need to purchase a high/low pass filter-pre out. The AVN5495 has everything plus 5 volt pre out.

 

Mine was installed in mid-May. Installer found the unit...sorry I don't know his source.

 

KShep, call 1-800-233-2216 or 310-327-2151. they will have a prompt for you to locate the nearest dealer. Or try Ebay. The AVX2494 is listed in their 2005 line up in the catalog that I have. If you don't have navigation, go for the AVN5495 that is due out this month. Last price I have seen for this unit is 1300 in ebay, I will keep a look out for ya!

The AVX2494 is in my Z now...installed last month. Your info may help speedracer though.

 

Can you post pics of the DSP, EQ and installed?

 

I don't have the pics hosted...so putting them up here is kind of a pain. Install pics posted in Audio forum on a site ending with the word -tech. Seas Lotus Reference components, TRU technology T-03 4.150 amp, Eclipse sub.
