I used 50 sq ft plus other materials (foams, neoprene, Liquid, jute). All depends on how much power, where you put your sub, level of dampening vs sound proofing you require, etc.

Real Dynamat Extreme is expensive. I used it but would probably not if I did it over again. Anyways, If all you are looking to do is reduce rattle I would say a 50sq ft bulk kit of Extreme or one of the reputable competitors would be sufficient. Would do Doors, shelf, trunks, inner rear wells, etc. just fine. Fine point to remember is the matting is going to do wonders for vibration dampening and rattles, but not much improvement for road noise.

yeah the extreme on Dynamats website is listed at US $250 retail, though ive seen it on fleebay for around $80-90 plus a good $50 to ship to Aus. Its around 4 times that to buy here

You know WhiteZed, he's down under too. Too bad it's so heavy, I'm supposed to make a trip to AUS next month. I'd bring you some.

liquid and foams work too, actually better in some areas.

Like half pound per square foot. So yeah, pretty heavy. I'm surprised someone doesn't make a knock-off down there. Have you spoke with WhiteZed?

I had the opportunity to go this month, till I heard it was winter there. We have sites in Orange, Sydney, Terrange, Mallulabah, Dalby and a bunch of other places that I can't pronounce or spell. I have to go to help with software installations, probably within the next month.

yup winter is pretty crappy here.. well its crappier in Melbourne eh Tipiace

as for a knock off matt down here this is what i found

product called soundoff www.soundoff.com.au (its still expencive)

i have ordered some of the door kits, jsut to check them out, i do have some samples and it looks pretty good quality, its thick as...... so if it works as well as it looks then it will be all good......

also i have put spectrum v3 all over my car... i wouldnt bother trying other brands the v3 is good

my plan for the car was v3 paste goes of 1st, and then over the top i was going to buy 100sq feet of b quiet, the cheaper one... extreme or ultimate, or something... mainly to make it look a little nicer than the v3 , plus adding an extra layer of deadening would be good
then the foam goes over the top of that

dynamat is expencive. you can buy double the ammount of b quiet still for cheaper than dynamat...

still depends waht you goal is.. road noise? or rattles or bass ??

listin to dannichols he knows what hes talking about, he has done the trial adn error and knows his **** !!

yes postage is the issue given its weight

i sent an email to the b-quiet guys and they quoted me USD $80 shipping on their 50 sq ft b-queit ultimate. But thats using ground shipping (or ship) which can take 4-6 weeks

the only other quote ive got so far is from the most expensive ebay seller at $119 for the 36sq ft Xtreme bulk kit with $110 shipping using airmail (2 weeks max)

i used Dynamat on my last car, on the 4 doors, parcelf shelf and boot, but i cant remember what i paid because it was the one install cost. Im more cost conscious these days. I asked my installer and he said a Dynamat door kit alone costs AUD $270. So that makes the ebay AUD $310 ask for the bulk kit seem really good value, despite pissing away alot of cash for shipping
