My Sirius Starmate Satellite Radio Fuked up
This is my second Sirius radio.
The Starmate is small enough to put in the Z's cubby....making it an ideal choice.
I am convinced that ALL the Sirius radios have a large display that for some reason PRODUCES A HUGE AMOUNT OF HEAT and it shortens their overall life.
They are guaranteed for a year (fortunately) and they replace them free of charge.
Anyone else notice that their Sirius Satellite receiver gets very HOT ??

The Starmate is a generation 2.5 chip set. The gen 3s are expected later this year and are expected to be much cooler. If you think the Starmate is hot, you should have owned the Audiovox PNP1. Damn......
Personally, I own the Sportster. It gets warm, but not so much that you can't hold it.

My Clarion got really hot, noticed that too. They quit making that model only 6 months after it came out but I never had any problems with it.
I can't wait till the video streaming comes out for Sirius. From what I understand it won't be broadcast quality or anything, just little animation type thingies, like the swimming dolphins they put on the nicer head units, but the vidoes won't be so lame.

Both XM and Sirius both get repititous if you listen to them enough. It's really a personal preference issue. Though, I do think that the rock stations on Sirius **** all over XM's in every way

Let me say it this way. When I turn on 10x.Whatever I hear the exact same thing every day. I actually recorded a "favorite" local station and played the mp3 over and over for a week and no one in the office noticed. And you know why they didn't notice? Because it didn't mater because it all sucks.
At least Sirius plays bands I've never heard of before and good songs at that.
But I also don't stick to one station.
If you listen to classic rock you have a play list larger than the top 50 songs, if you like popular music you can hear that but not be stiffled by the hyporitical azzholes at Sony trying to stuf Brittney Fears down your throat with the illegal payola coming out of their pockets. ( I sure hope there is a Digital **** Studios Act that lets us hack their computers for accounting bullsh1t like they can do to your computer).
If you are an old school waver like myself and you listen to 22 First Wave then you are going to hear some repeats because, well duh, they don't make it any more. But Sirius does a great job of not playing the 4 songs you remember; they play them all.
