ive spent close to AUD 13K on equipement alone, thats around USD 10K, but the prices for audio gear here in Aus are nearly double. My deck alone cost AUD 4K

im expecting a bill of around AUD 3K for the install labour, going for a glass sub box and hidden amp rack

ive gone for a true 5.1 system, with the Clarion 5.1/DTS processor add on for my VRX935VD and the Clarion SRK5 centre channel speaker, Tv tuner, JBL GTi speakers, 3 JBL Amps, Alpine Type X sub, new Clarion Ipod adapter, Pioneer reverse cam, the works

i had a similar setup in my last car with the Clarion 5.1 processor and centre channel speaker and it was unreal. The 5.1 effects within a car are amplified, and i just love watching my DVD concerts. The Clarion processor also opens up on the deck all these surround features like hall, stadium, church etc which remaps the audio

the cars booked in for Aug 15th, cant wait till its all finished. Itll be murder leaving the car at the shop for 3 weeks

Well.... I've had most of this stuff for years now, plus I was 'in the biz' then so I bought a lot at cost:

Amps: 1500
Stereo: 400
Ipod+connector: 400
Speakers: 1000
Subs: 250
Wire etc: 300

All told, 3850. Had never really done the math before. Damn, that's an expensive hobby... But worth every penny! I'd do it over again fo sho!

ive spent around $1500-1600 since i got everything except my components at cost and installed everything myself. otherwise it would have been around $3200-3300 + install cost.

It's not about the money spent - it's about the quality of equipment and the quality of the install that count. I've listened to 5 350Zs with $15k+ in equipment alone that sounded horrible. Unfortunately in the day and age of internet people think quanity means more then quality.

I've got 7 speakers (4 tweeters, 2 woofers, 1 sub), 1 amp, no processors, and I promise my system sounds better then 99.9% here. Sure I could easily improve my system with kicks, dash speakers, more amps, but that's not how I invision my 350Z as being built. I want simple, clean, and minimal - just like the 350Z was designed.

To each their own!

I'd guess around $2300 or so. I paid for the JL Stealthbox, Polk Momo amp, and Pioneer AVIC-D2. Car already had wiring, Pioneer XM, and aftermarket speakers.

2-3K and I only have a sub stage and DVD HU I change up my system too damn much. But since I have started selling stuff, the money spent has probably dropped to 1.5-2.5K

Damn, retail is a whole other story. If I weren't a bargain hunter I'd be broke as hell
