Amp Recommendation
I am looking to run some Boston 2-way Component Speakers (6 1/2" Woofer) in the front and a couple of 8" JBL Subs behind the driver's seat. Haven't decided yet whether or not I will replace the rear speakers; I kind of want to see how it sounds without them before I spend the money. My question here is, which amp should I get? Any recommendations? I would like something with lots of clarity and power, but as always space is a concern. If it is nice looking I will display it, but that is secondary. Thanks for any advice!
I would go with 50 watts in the front and at least four times that in the read. I went with 110 watts in the front/rear and 450 in the rear and it's way loud enough - way. I'm using pretty efficient speakers.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT Run the Subs behind the rear seat, Atleast if you do, Do not face them towards the front.
I would reccoment the JL Audio 500/5 It will give you 100Wx2 Front, 25WX2 Rear, 250WX1 for the sub. I know you don't want rears yet, But it is nice to have fillers in the rear.
Why shouldn't I put the subs behind me facing forward? That seems like the ideal location to me. This is what I want to do exactly. Maybe the owner of these can chime in? I know there is an ongoing debate about which way to face them, but what are the real pros/cons? How does this affect the sound? Thanks for the amp recommendation, but now I am worried about this sub setup. Do you think I would be better off with a stealthbox or something like that? What about if they face upward in the hatch? I have a picture somewhere but I don't have time to hunt around for it - where someone on this forum has the JL subs facing upward, sort of molded into the back part of the trunk space, with the amps under a custom console for the trunk. Is that better, or should they face directly towards the rear? Help! I don't want to make the wrong decision here, because I am on a tight budget.

Behind the seat is just not optimum for the subs to create the right wave in your car. If you do that you will have more bass in your trunk then the drivers cabin. As per best location for subs well, Facing it directly to the rear of the vehicle is what you want.

Paul350z...when you say 4 times that in the rear, you mean the sub/subs, NOT the rear speakers, right? That would throw the imaging WAY off if the rear speakers had that much power going to them, and the fronts had only a quarter of the power. The Z already has a less-than-optimum sound stage with the rear speaker location. That is what you mean, right?
dont bother with rear speakers
amp for clarity... i have an eclipse PA5422 and it is really clear and nice
also dont get cheap RCAs and speaker wire, i bought the fosgate RCAs and twisted speaker wire, and just those them self made such a huge differance....
i got the 4 channel amp to run a sub off it, i dont want massive bass, so this amp will be heaps for what i need.
