Opinions on Sony DVD units

Opinions on Sony DVD units
Hi guys,
I'm looking at upgrading my stock 6-cd Bose system - has anyone got an opinion on or experience with Sony's range of DVD players - they have a nice black one with an TV tuner....however all you guys seem to use Pioneer or Clarions or Kenwoods etc.
Am I also correct in thinking that if I change my Bose head unit I will also have to change all the speakers and amp?
Any help is appreciated.
