Photoshopped?

If it IS real, I think you have to look too far down and to the right for it to be useful.

No it's real. I was concerned with that too so I drove around with the display taped there to make sure. It's well within view and i've had no issue with the glance over towards it.

Why is the opening so mucj larger than the unit itself? I think it might have looked better if it was tighter.

The opening isn't. It's flush. That's black trim tape around it as a frame. Hard to see in the pic. I have grey to match the console, I haven't cut it yet. I put the frame around it to clean it up a little bit.

What is a V1 remote? Never heard of it.

Puzzled.

Remote display. It plugs in to the V1 junction box. The read out on the radar detector goes black and it display on the remote display unit. the idea is that vehicles behind you will not see your radar detector, cops or other motorists looking to follow your sheild. Also it can be mounted in convenient locations so the mute button is easily pressed.

Looks good. Clean. I would go with another color tape that give it that aluminum trim look to match everything else.

The window mounted unit still has to be there with this remote unit? Do you have the remote units on the front and back of the car too?

How deep is the remote head unit for the V1. Would it fit in the sunglass holder area where it would be visible but also be able to hide it when parked?

Here are some pics of the remote unit. I have never installed mine since I didn't really think I'd need it. The view through the rear window is so narrow I don't think many people would be able to see the regular unit on the windshield.

I'm not sure how big the sunglass holder is, but this remote is pretty small:

Thanks Doc,

I'll have to measure and see if that will fit.

It's basically worthless for sunglasses
