Default Will 06 MP3 Bose CD & 06 Steering Wheel (Audio Controls) Work on an 05?

Will the 06 Bose system with 6CD changer and MP3 support and the 06 steering wheel with audio controls work on a 2005 350Z? I heard from someone that you need to buy the 06 wiring harness for it to all work, and that thing is $900!!!

Just wondering, as I really would like both (and not aftermarket either)...

Any news on this but for all previous Zs? I have a 2003 and want something that looks stock but plays MP3s. I already have an iPod but don't want to carry it all over the place. Thanks

We will have to wait until somebody crashes some, to extract the radio, steering wheel and harness of a donor car I guess.

Thats funny. After much talk over the years on why Nissan didn't put this in at the begining, here we are, audio controls on the steering wheel.

from the pics I've seen, the head unit doesn't even fit the same way as the '05s and earlier. I don't think the '06 head will even fit right in a previous year, but I could be wrong.

edit:
to clarify, in the '06 pic I saw, the seam for the center console was not BELOW the radio like it is in 05. The seam comes across near the bottom of the head unit, and it appears that the lower corners of the head are more rounded, while '05 and earlier was more pointy. Again, this is all based off a pretty crappy pic, but I can't seem to find a good interior shot of the '06.

i just had this installed on my car today

i have a full ICE system so cant tell you whether the radio buttons work, but the cruise does. The audio panel and the cruise panel now share the same harness, they are linked together via some wiring, so you need to change both

illuminated cruise and radio buttons........nice

Just from all the digging I've been doing the past few days, it might be more trouble than it's worth...besides as someone said earlier the 2006 radio panel is different from the '05 and won't fit properly
