hey i noticed some ppl were making car pcs and what not and was wondering if i could take my laptop and hook it up to a touch screen monitor and if the touchscreen would work. Any ideas?

I just started my car pc, so I am doing alot of research on mp3car.com They really get into it. My plan is the same as yours, so mabye I'll let you know how it is coming...

 

i helped my friend put his notebook on his car... he had a dockin station which the labtop sits on... we did a pretty simple setup... notebook to the usb to the screen, but he doesnt use it everyday or leaves it on so i guess its koo for that setup... but yea you can check that site it has alotof info....

 

buying the parts for this right now. Just got my headunit stolen so I"m putting the stock radio back in and bypassing it all in a hidden setup so theives don't know what's up. 7" xenarc touch in the nav cubby of an 03, hooked up to my laptop with docking station, external sound card straight to my amps using a hi-lo converter off the stock headunit and hooking it into the mic in on the card, hope everything works smoothly.

Lots and lots of research on mp3car.com. not easy since most guys over there will either not answer your questions at all or just post for you to search. it's a pain as there 2342423423 threads on everything you can search for. If I ever get things set up in the z i'll post up how to put everything in. for now though there is a guy on the boards that installed a mac mini in his z that you can ask, just seach for mac mini
