I bought the 7017 and the 4100 nav brain that goes with it. One was 700 and the other was a little over 800. I may the prices mixed up between the two.

How do you like the combo ... ? I saw it for like $1500 as well ... does it have RCA Inputs? I'd like to connect an iPod to it ... is the Kenwood iPod interface any good? Or is it garbage like the rest of them?

It has 2 sets of aux inputs. I have my ipod hooked up through one and XM through the other. I like the radio nav combo a lot. I should have my final install pics up tomorrow.

Cool ... I look forward to seeing them ... I'm torn between the 7017, the AVIC-D1, and the Eclipse 5395. I hear the Eclipse screen isn't as bright as the Kenwood and Pioneer though ... do you find you 7017 to be plenty bright during the day? I have a ZR so brightness is important ...

It depends what you want to look at. It is easy to see the nav sceen map, and other menus. However it is hard to see the picture if you are trying to watch a movie with a nite scene.

one question, does the 7017 play mp3's burnt on a DVD-R? I need someone to confirm that. If so, that is great and will eliminate a bunch of CD-R's. 1 CD-R = 750-800MB, 1 DVD-R or DVD-R DL 4.7gigs for DVD-R and 8.? gigs for DVD-R DL. Imagine how many cd's you can eliminate!

its called a music keg son..........stop using the cds and buy the kenwood. Kenwood makes a "music keg" which is basically a hard drive for your music that integrates with your head unit. It comes in a 10g or 20g

It's really not that much different than the Keg interface; however, none of the interfaces (save the Clarion, kinda) are anything what the actual iPod software supports. Looking forward to the AVIC-Z1 myself.
