According to Sears Automotive, we need a Group 35 Battery for our cars ...

Length 9-11/16 in.
Width 6-7/8 in.
Height 8-7/8 in.

Trying to find someone that carries Optima, Stinger, or Orbital locally at this point is quite the challenge ...

How about this Stinger? It looks like the ideal fit ... the other options are too small or too large ... and this should be more than enough ... thoughts:

It's the Power2 SP1000 ...

I just found an awesome deal on this Power2 SP1000 ... I'm going to try to fit it tomorrow if I get some time ... It's close to the size of the factory battery ...

At the optima website, if you put in 2003-2004 350Z, it says no matches.

Yah, they only seem to match up the red top for our cars, not the yellow top ... not sure why. I left my installer with the Stinger Power2 SP1000 and he says it doesn't fit right either as it's not the same size ... Anyone else with the Stinger installed have any tips on how to make it fit?

Odyssey makes the stinger. And for many others.

The SP1000 seems like it's too short and the threads for the mount don't make it ... any suggestions on where I can extend the mount or something?

I'm running the same amps as you are and I got the Rockford Fosgate battery and it works pretty well. I am very happy with it!

if saving weight is your goal, then the yellow top is not the way to go. the odyssy (spelling) pc680 would be your best bet. something around 12-13lbs depending on wheather or not you get the metal jacket. the stock battery is somewhere in the 35lb range. the cranking amps were more then enough to start my car in the freezing cold, i just cant remember the exact number.

i had to sell it because i needed the extra power for my nitrous system. i wouldnt recommend it if you have an aftermarket sound system, FI or anything of that sort that can easily drain the battery. this is for those N/A guys.

Rockford Fosgate uses Orbital Batteries as their own. FYI.

I did not know that Optima offered a "Light weight" Battery. The Optima batteries that we sell are not light by any means but it is far more superior then your average OEM battery. FYI, yes it is true that the Optima Red tops have a higher rated CCA but it is not a deep cycle battery like a Yellow top which would, if drained, cause it to lose its abillity to fully charge like your standard battery. Fyi, Optima batteries due contain sulfuric acid but not in the same manor as a standard battery.

Installing a Yellow Top Battery in my car required me to extend my power wire and also replace my ground wire( which was a given anyhow).

Also, we don't deal with orbital but we did sell Rockford Fosgate Batteries at one time and they use Orbital batteries. I don't know much about Orbital as a primary brand but i do know that they do have deep cycle batteries. They do not however contain the "Spiralcell Technology" that Optima does. How this technology sets these batteries apart i'm not sure but the Deep Cycle Rockford Fosgate Batteries that we did sell worked as well as the Optima Yellow Tops and they even cost the same at that time. They did the same thing in my opinion but again, i'm not entirely sure and my info. could be subject to debate.

All Great Info! Thanks!

... but any tips on how I can get the battery actually mounted? This thing is like 2" shorter than the stock battery so the mount doesn't work
