Aftermarket battery...
Hey guys, my battery is dead and I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket one. What batteries should I consider? I searched and found many of you have gone with the optima lightweight battery. But doesn't this battery provide less cranking amps and less reserve than the stock battery? This optima battery is in a different group (51), as opposed to the stock which i belive is in group 34.
Will the lightweight optima work fine?
BTW I'm running a Jl 500/1 and 300/4 amps
thanx

I love my Yellow Top, starts easier and have no noted drain. I also run the 500/1 and 300/4 amps.
I have an optima yellow top in my Eclipse (I don't know if it light weight or not). I am running two 12" L7's with two kicker 850.2 amps with no problems at all.
I would highly recomend the yellowtop.

Isn't the yellow top for those who intend to run their after market stereo with the car off. Would not the Red tops be better for an all around battey? It offers better Cold Cranking Amps than yellow tops.
In competition we've found that Stinger batteries out perform Optima batteries across the board (amps, durability, and longevity). Either battery is better then stock, but in competition (we compete Nationally in sound quality and sound pressure events in dBDrag, MECA, & IASCA in 4 different vehicles).
