Default Stock Stereo to Bose.. big difference??

I have a stock HU now, i am ok with the sound quality, but i want more of a punch and a bit louder and would like to retain the NAV voice throughout the system, so I am thinking of replacing my system now to Bose w/ sub and retain the nav voice, was wondering if the sound quality is much better, and also what year of the factory bose system will play Mp3? Thanks in advance

Factory Bose won't play MP3. If you're worried about sound quality, go aftermarket. It sound better than the Bose HU. BTW, if you really wanna go Bose I have the 6-disc changer HU that I'd be willing to sell.

The Bose system in the new 2006 models plays mp3's thats with 6 disc cd changer as well, sounds really good.
Anything pre 2006 will not play mp3.

I used to listen to the no-Bose system regularly until I had the cat-back exhaust installed. Now I cant hear a damn thing.

Default Bose w/ Sirius

I did the non-bose to bose switch w/ upgrades & the sound quality is great. I followed Frankmusic's diagram below & added Sirius digital.

If you do get the Bose HU...get the '04+ models as they are SAT ready. Just make ure that the CD is locked so that it doesn't break the CD player in shipment. Buy local if possible.

Get rid of the Bose. I just bought my 03, and within a few days started buying stuff to replace it. That POS Bose sounds worse than my base model Chevy Blazer's stereo. To me that's pretty sad (Blazer $16,000 new, Z about $33K).

I also have an Infiniti G35 and must say that as much as the Bose sucks in that one, the Z's sucks times 100.
