8027? I thought the 8017 was the latest model?

+1, we do sell DDX8017 Kenwood units but i'm not aware of a "8027". I've never heard of a 6027 also. Maybe DDX7017 is what you meant?

KVT-915DVD
KVT-817DVD
KVT-717DVD

DDX7017DVD
DDX8017DVD

FYI, All Excelon DVD unit now have the 5.1 Surround Sound Processor built in as well as the Parametric EQ systems and increased voltage in you RCA outputs. Cool. Full touch screen functions now apply to all dvd unit Excelon and Spectrum alike.

Only the 8017 and the XXV-05V have the 5.1 Dolby digital. Rest of them have Simulated surround.

The DDX-8027 is the Rest Of The World model that's sold in Europe and Asia. There's an Ebay seller that has them listed on Ebay from Hong Kong. The advantage to HK models is that they are region free and can accept DVDs from anywhere in the world. Disadvantage is that the unit won't have a US warranty.

As for compatibility with the Bose system, I'm sure it could be made to work but why would you want to? Not sure at all about the steering wheel controls. I know for Mercedes there're dedicated CANBUS adapters that adapt various radio models to work with the steering wheel controls but I've never seen the like for Nissan. I plan on getting the same deck so I will be researching this.

Do you know if the iPod Interface for the 8027 is any better than that of the 8017? Because so far the KCA-IP500 sucks big time ...

For better or worse, the 8027 works with the same accessories the 8017 does. The KCA-i500 is what's sold around the world. Why not go for a Music Keg?

The IP500 would be 100 times better if you could simply search-in-a-search like with the Pioneer Units ... I wish I could pick a genre and then select an artist within that genre ... or select an Artist and then pick an album within that artist ...

... sucks ... and what's with these stupid 255 item limits? Obviously it's a bus limitation, but you'd think that with newer head units like the 7017/8017 series -- that are only a few months old -- that they would fix that ... can it really be that complicated?

Unhappy

we sell the IP500 but i don't have a lot of experience with it. I do believe though that the Kenwood DVD Players have the ability to display folders, genre, tracks, and other such functions. Of course, getting a $1700.00 unit for that function would seem a little extreme.

If it's an MP3 DVD, you do have some flexibility ... but with the IP500 it's blah ... running it off a DDX8017 ... if you have playlists, it's a little easier ... but trying to find a handful of songs out of 11,000 ... is close to impossible ...

i m locate in europe in germany exactly, it s for that than the reference of this radio is differrent but that exactly the same one.
do u know if this one fit propely in the dash or do u need a kit to install it?

i have the bose system and i dont want to change it, for me it enought. dont want to spend too many money in the hifi. prefer to spend it for the performance.

just for information in europe we have only two model of the z, low version and high version (track for u guy). and here we dont have trim seat for exemple only leather.

does anyone know how to connect the steering wheel remote control to the kenwood?

thanks guy
