Default Good amps?

Used to be a straight rockford guy, but looking at other options.

Need a good amp to power 2 10 inch alpine type r's. The DVC at 4ohms each.

What would be a good amp for these?

not sure if it would be perfect or not (don't know much about electronics), but look into the JL Audio 500/1...it drives my 2 10" JL's, and it works great

A Zapco Competition Series 4KW.

They're pretty good. I use to have an LC250 from them and it rocked.

JL slash amps are working great for me. Since their A/C voltage output (power) remains constant regardless of input voltage you can set the gains, check the A/C output, and rest assured the power heading to your speakers for a given Head unit volume position.
I had problems with alternator noise with some other amps I used (Soundstream and Phoenix Gold). Same wiring, same setup..never figured that problem out, but it's gone with JL amps. Clean and loud.
