problem/question about my metra dash kit
ok, i attacthed two photos, the first is the metra kit and the 2nd is one that i want it to look like(metra too)
ok, i installed the kit(the part with the pocket and all that together, well my cd player is sunken into the dash and bothers me a lot and to me looks horrible....
well the kit also comes with the double din faceplate(which is also what is used in the 2nd picture) i want to know if anyone else has used this kit or something similar and/or used the double din faceplate and made it flush with the dash.
also what do you think this person used in the pocket area, that part of the kit doesnt have a pocket and cant fit one.. im stumped and pissed???
someone help please

i don't know what kit you used but try the scosche one. i've just put a radio in and it sits flush to the front. i put my double din in last month and it sits flush also. make sure you mount the kit with the factory screws so everything lines up.

I can't see his pictures..
but his problem probably has nothing to do with the metra kit.. how deep or sticking out the radio sits is really dependant on how the radio is mounted to the side brackets. When I initially installed my radio it was too deep by like 1/4 inch... so I pulled it out, enlarged a few of the holes on the bracket in the appropriate direction and it now fits perfect.. took a lot of trial and error

the pics are there now
see, the first pic, it has the whole kit. you can use either the one with the cubby attached or the "double din" thing that is just flat and you have to use all the mounts,
well, the cubby one is curved like the dash, and the radio site just a bit deep for my taste, and just looks odd with everything curving instead of the radio.
does anyone understand me? lol
i would be good if i can find out what the guy used for the cubby in that 2nd pic(ive already put that in to see what it would look like and it looks great minus the big hole under the radio) that part came with the kit if you see the first picture
i sent him a pm but he hasnt been on in a couple of months so who knows when he'll see my message
