Default Upgrade your stock CD deck!

After driving around with the stock BOSE system for nearly two months, i finally upgraded the deck to the Pioneer P80MP. I was actually pretty happy with the stock system (it was FAR better than the one i had in my old car), and admittedly only upgraded the deck because i wanted to play MP3s. Let me tell you something: the first moment that thing started playing, MY JAW DROPPED! Even though i still have the stock BOSE speakers (which will soon be replaced), the difference was AMAZING! We're talking HUGE! We're talking Ford vs Ferrari difference here! Seriously, had i known that an upgraded deck would make such a HUGE difference, i would have installed it the day i bought my car. You don't have to get a top-of-the-line deck like i did, but if you've got ANY money to spare, even $100, go out there and buy yourself a new deck! You will NOT be disappointed!

I did a complete stereo replacement minus the head unit and it was a great improvement. A couple of months after that, I went back and replaced the head unit and it amazed me how much the head unit was still holding back the new components.

What DIN conversion, man? I did everything myself. I'm still missing the pocket, but i'm gonna buy the kit for $30 tomorrow (maybe that's what you were asking about?).

Yeah man actually that is what I'm talking about. One more question though, did you have to buy a harness from bestbuy or something?

I have had 4 bad 6CD players. Finally replaced the entire head unit with the Eclipse AVX2494. Costly, but like was said in a previous post, the difference in sound is the difference between a "Ford and Ferrari"! It woke up the Bose system. Even the Nissan Dealership here in Albuquerque was empressed.

In addition to the Eclipse unit, the installer used the 350Z Double Din kit from Crutchfield, plus a harness and 4 channel converter from Peripheral Electronics.

Harness. Don't forget to connect the blue wire coming out of the deck. That wire activates the BOSE amp, and you simply won't get any sound if you forget to connect it (like i initially did ).

hey, i went to best buy to ask if I could just put in a new deck without any other adjustments (harness already included) and they said that you can't because the bose system's wiring is all different than that of other systems. They made a big deal out of it sayin the installation was much more difficult, and that it would cost more becuase of it. Guys, can you set things straight on what I need to do to put in a new deck?

Just wait to you dump the bloze speakers and amplifiers ... they're worse than the head-end by double.

I never get tired of posting these pictures of the Bose crap.
