Default question about the stereo

I have heard that the 350z stereos are bad. Questions

1) How does the stock stereo compare to the Bose

2) Did the sound quality of either unit improve for 2006 (the head unit looks new)

3) I am on a budget and cannot afford a touring model and then spend another 2k on a stereo upgrade. Would I be better off saving money w/ a base model and just upgrade the stock stereo.

4) Is the sounds quality acceptable with either unit if you are only a medium audiophile. I like a nice, clean punchy base w/ clear highs as well.

i got the base model with a base stereo and it doesn't sound too shabby at all...i play hiphops and they sure sound good enough (turn the volume to +18) a clean punchy base w/clear highs....try the NB RidazCD and play "pretty girl" as a demo.
my friend is sound engineer at the local TV station.....in fact, he told me the other day that it was quite acceptable.

I'd get the Enthusiast; best bang for buck & leaves $$$ for stero upgrade which will cost you about $1500 for a good (but not best) system if you pay for installation.

I have the Enthusiast, cause I'm not into the leather and the bose suck I will say. My boy has the 05 Z Touring, and the bose sound like crap. I don't like them at all. I put an after market pioneer DEH-8600 and it made a world of difference, still not the quality I'm used to but you will hear a difference. I will be getting the Kenwood Double dim DVD/Nav soon, and changing out the stock speakers. I will say that the Enthusiast is the most for your money, you still get the HID's LOL, I think all the 06 models come with HID's now, but for my 05 I thought I got a great deal.

Stock car stereos are never good.

I would skip the Bose and just swap in a new headunit and some door speakers. You can do that pretty cheap.

The Eclipse AVX2494 will wake up the Bose system in a "Tour" model. It has a lot to dowith the HU. I am sure ANY after market HU, installed by a GOOD shop can do WONDERS!
