Default Rearview Camera

For those that installed a rear view camera (or knows how to) How is it turned on when the reverse gear is on? Do you have to connect it to the gear box????

Default It's not too hard...

Skidazzle has direct experience with this in his Z, if I remember correctly...I think he is the only one I have seen with a backup camera linked into his nav system.

Essentially, all you need to do is find the reverse backup wire, and wire in a relay to put he nav system into a mode so that the nav screen displays the backup camera picture when the Z is in reverse. Obviously, you have to have a means of converting composite video output from the camera to rgb for the screen.

If you had the FSM (like I do), the wires you need to tap should be easy to find. I am considering installing a backup camera myself, but I am trying to figure out how to link it in using a Pioneer GEX-P7000 tuner. So far, I haven't gotten it totally figured out.
