Default I think I found a Solution for my iPod in the car

Rather than dealing with buying an adapter for the aftermarket radio or using the FM transmitter/etc, I found this little device:

The display mimics the iPod display in monochrome, and the **** is the iPod wheel. You can connect it via the Aux input of your headunit or use an FM transmitter if you don't have the option, as well as getting the power from the cigarette lighter or straight from the battery.

Crutchfiled Review

Does anyone have it?

the only problem i see is mounting the ****, since we don't have much space.

The only place I can think of is mounting it on top of the coin holder, that's the most comfortable place I can find without being inconviniently located.

My gf just gave it to me as an early x-mas gift. I really like it. The display fits perfectly in the nav cubby. As for the little controller, I placed it right between the end of the shifter and the top of the coin tray. It comes with 3 different types of mounts for the controller. There is a 0, 30 and 60 degree mounts. There is also 3 options for the display.
I'm going through the fm transmitter. The quality is around 90%. Sometimes it picks up alot of static, but you can transmit on any channel.
Good luck!

Ian

It can be either an FM transmitter or be hooked up to the Aux input on your headunit, reread the first post

I would have just got an aftermarket radio that controls the ipod, looks cleaner... and for 200.00 doesn't look like your saving much.

well, you usually pay like $100-$150 for the ipod adapter for the aftermarket headunit. On top of that, I don't think the headunits give you the ipod layout comfort, meaning when you are looking for a song and stuff (i really don't know, since I haven't used one yet, but I can imagine being kinda tedious having all the information displayed on a single line).

I think i would rather spend the extra money and have the comfort of using the ipod in the car with this thing.
