I see plenty of posts about the Metra Kit. But what about the plug?

Are people using a metra plug or splicing into the factory wiring?

i've found the metra harness to work quite well, although i'm sure we'll use it less as the custom install progresses...

I used these wiring harnesses for my Alpine 7998. No splicing was needed, everything just snaps together.

Metra wire harness #80-7550 (Nissan to Universal)
Metra wire harness #AL2X8-80 (Universal to Alpine)

I purchased these at Circuit City.

I got the 80-7550 Nissan to Universal, but they didn't have the Universal to Pioneer Premier (Its different from the regular pioneer for some reason). Tonight I connected it up to the harness that came with my Pioneer DEH-P840MP, and it came out like this. As you can see I don't like soldering and I don't like electrical tape. Now if my car would only get here so I could start installing stuff.

I ran new wire so I only needed +12V, +12V sw, and illum. I just cut into the factory harness to get it.
