sure, you might as well get some spinning rims while you are at it.
Sorry, man Not to sound to much like an azz, but I belive if you are going to do something you should do it right. You already want to keep the factory HU and that is bad enough. Using a line converter is just going to lower the sound quality even more. That is how I look at it.

i used converter. you connect two wires. +/- from factory speaker wires and out let has RCAs so that you could connect directly in to the amp. works great. it even has sound adjuster built on to it. you could find these at a local stereo shop, wont cost you too much either.

cheap way is to use a line output convertor like the one linked above at Crutchfield. The 1000 times better sounding way is to get the Cleansweep by JL or any of the other identical products out there. This piece is a great bit of engineering. It completely flattens the equalization curves that the stock head unit throws in at various volumes....this includes your head units ability to pull a significant amount of the low end frequencies OUT of the music at higher volumes b/c the stock speakers couldn't handle it.
If you're installing an amp and sub, you're short-changing yourself w/ a standard line output convertor.

Do I understand this right (I'm not a car audio guy)?
1. Speaker outs go to CleanSweep.
2. Speakers and sub/amp connect to the CleanSweep.
3. CleanSweep takes signal from HU, cleans signal, outputs signal to speakers and new amp/sub.
Is that right?
There are four outs on the CleanSweep, but there are 6 speakers in my car (Enthusiast Roadster). How do you hook up all the speakers, plus the new amp/sub?
