Default 20" LCD TV in a Z...

where should I mount this bloddy thing?

this is what my trunk looks like right now..

i'm thinking of doing that hanging off the hatch thing everyone does but I'll probably have to do something that just attaches to my hatch whenever I'm at a show rather than something that is always there unless I fabricate a mechanism.

Second option is to prop it off of the that part right behind the seats where the two speakers are kind of making it a divider between my trunk area and the seats but that too will definaetly have to be only for shows as I will not drive with a TV in my way of blind spot checking lol

any pics on cusotm installs / ideas are appreciated~ thanks!

thanks guys~ =)

You could perform open heart surgery on that install it's so clean.

Nice car, but where do you put your golf clubs?

perhaps you could put it in the area between the strut bar and the seats.... and have it motor up via an actuator when you're at shows, and then motor back down for driving so it doesn't block your blind spot

it a home type lcd tv? or a megal flip down? i would go wtih the theme, extend the bracket around the subs upward, and attaches solidly to the top of hte strut brace, and accomoate the tv that way perhaps with hydraulic lifters so at ashow, it will stand itself up for a good viewing angle and fold flat when driving

Loose the little one and go on the hatch with some sort of hydraulic system to assist/lift the thing into place. I would have gone with a rear screen projector on the dash firing into a transparent screen that would electrically un-roll out of the hatchback.

I think you should install it so that it hinges where I drew the 2 circles. When the hatch is closed, it would fold back towards the glass and be facing down. When you open the hatch, it would hinge down toward the rear and rest vertically. That would be my suggestion. CLEAN CAR btw.

15" motorized monitor.

Other setups:

This setup has a 15" monitor under the strut bar and is motorized to come up through the silver cover thingy with the Z emblem. I can't find the picture where it shows it.

I obviously don't mean to knock any of these custom installations, because they're all very well-done, but I'm just curious: why is everyone putting LCD TVs in the trunk? Is there some kind of movie-watching tailgate party scene or something? Or just a way to stay entertained at car shows?

In case it's not obvious that I think so, nice work, guys, I'm just not sure I get it. I should probably just keep my mouth shut.

It's so when you are bending your biatch over the trunk to hit the poonani, you can see yourself on the 20 inch screen! DUH! That's sooo common sense!

the point is... it's just cool :P car has plenty of HP (boost), custom paint, custom interior... but not enough TV's to complete the ICE component... and if I can find a nice spot for it... I'd be all up for doing it ---

thanks for the compliments guys! I was planning on doing this in the garage, but thanks to the ideas looks like its gonna be a month long project! LOL

Still haven't convinced me. I like the look of it w/o an unecessary 20" TV. Looks a lot cleaner.

Please tell me you will at least get a widescreen TV ... that would at least somewhat validate doing this.

Placing old tech, read 4:3 into a vehicle like this is a joke.

jim (doesn't support the TV thing, but recognizes a nice install so far)

yeah maybe i won't do the TV thing... i think i rather do a few 7" installs rather than one massive 20"+ ...

but i'm still gonna buy that TV cause it's a good deal for my house LoL.
