Looking for integrated bluetooth carkit
Hi,
I would like to attach a bluetooth carkit to the carkit assembly in the car. In my mind, this should be a simple task since the car is already carkit prepared. However, Nissan doesn't seem to have a standard module for this. I know the 2006 version will have it built in, but is there a smart company out there who have manufactured a plug and play bluetooth carkit that works through the existing system?
Kind regards,
Marc

The Parrot 3200 color is an excellent choice and simple to install. I make a "no-cut" harness adapter - see http://members.***.net/quickconnect
If you have the Bose system, you need the HBBH-1 interface with electronics - see below. For non-Bose the cheaper straight through harness adapter QCNis-1 works great. Let me know if I can answer any questions about this.
As for where to get your Parrot kit, try this place: http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?code=127593

Pioneer already has bluetooth-capable HUs available in Europe:

Talking to someone over my stereo isn't desirable, as I prefer a dedicated phone speaker. Look for phone/interface choices that support Bluetooth 1.1 specification, 2.45 GHz ISM band. This week I compared a new N6822 headset sound quality and it was much better than previous phones with BT-1.0's. For the best BT1.1 sound get a new phone and don't waste ~$400 interfacing to your car stereo IMO.

Don't knock a full bluetooth car kit till you've tried it. Your phone stays in its belt clip or purse and the features are wonderful. There's nothing like instant mute and full surround sound for the cell phone audio. If you drive a stick, the Parrot or equivalent is essential IMO.
The manual drive control is a great point! You need a phone that switches over to a headset without interruption during start/stop. Motorola's blnc Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 supports BT version 1.1.
I don't want to hear my Boss in surround sound!

From what i understand, is with the bluetooth, it should bring up a caller ID on the alpine display and the phone book, Im assuming on the IVA-D310 type video touch screen units.
Those kit interfaces cost nearly as much as the new high speed data network Nokia 6822 ($300). It has much better sound with a noise cancelling wireless headset. Mount the phone high enough to see it ring, unfortunately there is no cheap way to toggle the aftermarket stereo mute line.
