I'm planning on buying a $500-650 gps for my accord, (lol for my z im going to get something decent like a pioneer). now I have two in my mind, TomTom GO700 and the Garmin C330 . between the 2 which one would you recommend or is there a better one in that price range that I don't know about.

I'm a big fan of the Garmin product line.
I've owned quite a few of their GPS from the Garmin Pilot III, 196, 296, and I now own the 396. I have rarely used them in my Car (All except the III were good).
Garmin's customer support network has always amazed me with their service.
They have always gotten my vote

I like the Garmin Quest II. My Volvo doesn't have Nav, so we use that instead. Works wonderfully and contains the entire N.A. map and about 4 million POIs. It fits in your pocket, has a rechargeable battery, and is waterproof/resistant so you can take it hiking and camping with you. It was also less expensive than the higher end TomTom. To the TomTom's credit it does offer bluetooth capability, but I didn't need that and saved $200. Bought my Quest2 at Newegg for just over $500 and it came with a couple car mounting options so I didn't need to buy any other accessories.

Look into the Lowrance units. The IWAY500 and the IWAY350. www.lowrance.com The IWAY350 won product of the year award at SEMA.

my buddy bought a magellan 730 or something like it and it sucked... lol ..he paid like 700 bucks for it and when he was in san francisco, it told him he was in san diego...lol ..

get a garmin if u want standard gps... tomtom has advanced features such as traffic monitoring etc (they charge a monthly fee of course, but the 1st year is free)

I've used the 2000C for about ummm... a 4 hour trip. Lowrance was horrible (User friendly) wise when you need to save maps or new co-ordinates to it.... Remember, it's their "top of the line" Portable GPS,... the Garmin 296 (not the even more advanced 396) made the L 2000C look/work/feel like a joke.
Not user friendly at all....

The Lowrance 2000C is a aviation unit not a automotive unit. Could be the reason why it did not perform well.

+1. That confirms the reviews I've read Garmin being the best.
Garmin also makes a blue tooth hidden-away model GPS10 that
works with www.palmone.com treo 700 phone. Then you don't
have to slog the dash top brick around town when you are parked.

I just bought the Garmin C330 over the weekend and must say I've been very impressed with it.
I used to use a laptop and the Delorme Street Atlas w/ GPS and the C330 is 10x better in all aspects. Plus the fact that it can run on battery and fits perfectly into the cubby hole. Only negative so far is I haven't found a better place to mount the unit so I can see the screen a little better than it being in the cubby.
Got it at Circuit Ciy for 549.99. Make sure to ask for the 'web' price, seems their online store is cheaper than the retail but they'll let you buy it at the web price.

Get the new Alpine Blackbird... I hear it's supposed to be awesome. Portable navigation and mp3 player... sick.

Iway 350c. As a bonus it fits perfectly into the cubby in the dash.

Default XM & Garmin

Check out the new Garmin top street pilot features.

http://www.garmin.com/products/sp7500/

) XM traffic provides road condition based routing

) supports Dead Reckoning sensors

"track your vehicle's course when your GPS signal is blocked for example in urban areas or tunnels. If you lose GPS coverage in areas with tall buildings or tunnels, the StreetPilot 7500 keeps on navigating. "

Until Garmin dramatically lowers its stratosphere price, I'm using paper maps.
