Default 04 touring bose hu (6cd,tape,radio), does is it sat or not? I WANT TO HARDWIRE IPOD!!

I have an 04 touring with bose sytem. i have used the search dfeature and looked for like an hour and i am still confused. my manual says that a hu with tape, 6cd and radio is the sat ready unit. BUT the sat ready headunit should flip from am-fm1-fm2-sat1-sat2-am when you press radio. but mine only changes from am-fm1-fm2-am? also when reading it says that a sat ready feature has the "radio" as its button, while non sat ready purely says "AM/FM". am i over analyzing this or just lost? im writing this because i am trying to hardwire in my ipod to my hu.
also when searching i find the PAC AAI-NIS. pac's website says will not work with sat reciever, yet everyone is usually using this with the bose headunit. how?!?!?! any other options ?
thanks

http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundauxniss.html

looks like as long as there is no 'sat' button you're okay with this input, it plugs into the cd changer port on the back which will then give more options when you press the cd button

does *not* allow control of ipod from the HU

crutchfield.com have several ipod ready z fitting HUs sub 150$ - good reason to dump the blose anyway

NO NO NO!!!!! If you have the "Radio" button, you have the OPTION of satillite. The PAC AAI-NIS WILL work. Re-read your link. It says if you have the factory sat. radio option installed, then it won't work. The PAC Audio AAI-NIS is what you need. It will give you two aux. inputs via rca cables.

The AUX-NISS is for 03 bose and the base radio. It WILL NOT work on a sat. ready radio like you have.

Also, your radio will NOT cycle through the sat options when you hit the radio button unless you have a sat. tuner attached, which you don't.

Scott...NO! Doesn't your radio have a "Radio" button? Or does it have a button labeled "FM/AM?" I've never heard of an 04 Bose w/ the "FM/AM" button. If you do indeed have the "Radio" button, you need the AAI-NIS.

You need the pac aai-nis2. I just received one for my 04 bose. You probably want to hook up a pac Turbo1 line driver as well to boost the signal to your stereo to match the audio of the stereo.

You can consider the USASpec PA11-NIS. It is an iPod interface and gives you an additional Aux-in.

I just finished installing the USASpec PA11-NIS today. I am a rookie and it took me 3 hours. It doesn't come with any installation instruction at all. You have to figure out which plug goes where. Other than that, it works great. This is the cheapest way to hardwire iPod.

scottelliott, I have a 05 touring bose HU. So it should be the same as yours.
