Default Where do you buy amp racks?

Sorry this is the wrong section, but where did you guys buy your amp racks from? I was planning on putting it behind the driver (empty space) Only getting one amp.

Also my wire is grounded in the trunk area... is it possible to ground it in that compartment behind the driver? And how do you do something like this?

Thanks!

Most people make their own amp rack. Yes you can move the ground wire as long as you re-attach it to a good, solid grounding point.

There should be many bolts in that area that would work. As long as they are going to the cars chassis you will be fine.

Don't mind UBERMENCH, no one else does (unless you dig fat ugly chicks).

I think the way to go is to have the amp rack built to your needs. Even within one model of car, there are so many variables (size of amp, number of amps, style, etc) that I doubt there are a lot of pre-made ones available, unless you want to go used. Go down to your local shop and see what they can do for you.

+1. Also, it is a good idea to scrape paint off the bolt and chassis below it for proper sheet metal contact and a good ground.

Well he says he is in the Military, yet in a post earlier he stated that a Jag would make a good graduation present for him... Makes me think he is a young kid.

I bought mine at Home Depot but had to double deck the amplifiers for the sub-woofer and main amplifiers.

Damn Paul, those don't overheat? They are pretty close together. Nice setup though.

Nope not after a loud listening - note the little tiny fan which does about 20 cu.ft. of cooling per minute. I made the gap adjustable so if I had to open them up once I shoehorned them into the cubby hole - no problem and not a thermal shutdown yet. I do practice safe sound though.

I used the three 10 mm bolt holes in the front of the subwoofer area where the front of the stock subwoofer plate mounts and the two 10 mm bolt holes where the driver's side cubby hole would mount if so equiped. I let Nissan do the work and just recycled the bolts that had held the subwoofer plate in place.
