one more time: ipod + bose
Ok. So I’ve searched and searched the forums, and read and read and read.
But I still just don’t get it... there seems to be a lot of conflicting information... (There should really be a sticky with finalized information on this topic.)
So, I’ve got a 2004 touring (so she’s got the bose head unit). Does the PA11-NIS (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=701) work with my deck? And does it allow you to control the ipod from the head unit?
Again, sorry for beating this dead topic to death, and thanks for any help.

haha, maybe you need to search more :-) just kidding...
I installed it on my Z yesterday. I have a 05 Touring bose system with these 3 buttons: CD6/Tape/Radio. It works! If you choose "Playlist Mode," you will be able to control the iPod from the HU. I went with Direct Mode. I installed it myself (well, with my boyfriend) and took about 3 hours. Keep in mind that we are rookies. In terms of taking center console apart, I found this link more useful than the service manual. If you have an auto, this link gives additional info.

I haven't mounted it yet. The ipod cable is fed out from the passenger side between the carpet and the panel. I will probably get the ProClip. The mount is about $30. And depends on which ipod you have, the device holder runs from $20 ~ $50. So you are looking at $50 ~ $80. They are expensive because they are custom made to fit your car, not universal fit. Another way I thought of is get a Belkin TuneDok and use the passenger side cup holder to hold the ipod. This will be only $15.
