Thanks for the links.
Do you know if there is a way to wire my 06' steering wheel radio controls to an after market Head unit like these Kenwood units?
I don't know S$*t about car audio, as you can probably tell.

Only the DDX7017 has a direct steering wheel control wire. You will have to purchase a adaptor from PAC. It is the SWIALP, this is a direct hardwire interface not like the interface where you have to try and point the infared eye at the unit.

7017 also has 5 Volt preouts and the 7015 only has 2.5 Volt.

Thanks for the replies. Couple more questions.
Do you have a web address for PAC?
What is the significance of 5v preout versus 2.5v?
The specs for the 7017 say that it has "Dual Zone Source & Volume Control" does that mean that if I add the navigation system to it, and a second screen in the nav cubby, that I could show a DVD on the bottom screen and the navigation on the top at the same time?

5 Volt preouts will give you more voltage going in to your amplifier, Thus getting you cleaner power from your amp. This way You don't need to have your gains too high up to get a decent output out of the amps.

Dual Zone gives you Audio signal let's say for back seat and Video signal for back seat... But yes you can do a seperate screen and use it for that as well...

I'm considering the DDX7017 because I like the birdseye view of the Kenwood navigation. Are there any other 2DIN units that have that feature?

6019 is the new model for the 7017 They are not making th e7017 anymore.

6019 comes out sometime in march.

I don't think 6019 has 5V preouts... But it will be bluetooth ready and have a USB port for anu MP3 Player.

That must be why the prices on the 7017 are dropping. I've seen them as low as 700 including shipping.

the Kenwood units don't come with integrated navigation, correct? i'm looking for a double-din DVD unit without navigation, as i want to retain the OEM navi setup in my G35.

i'm really excited about the new DDX-6019... anybody know what pricing is gonna look like?
